Copper futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as speculators trimmed positions amid weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to muted demand even as the metal strengthened overseas. Analysts said a weak trend in copper and other industrial metals at the physical markets owing to muted demand mainly kept pressure on copper prices at futures trade here.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2017 contract was trading at Rs 434.30 per kg, down by 0.20 per cent, after opening at Rs 434.00, against a previous close of Rs 435.15. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 432.50 (at 12:10 hours).
